One More Reason Why I Heart New Braunfels: Fair Parade
I moved to New Braunfels in 2001 and the first big culture shock I got was “Fair Day”. I actually thought people were messing with me when they said that everything was closed (including the schools) for the fair parade. Now it’s one of the things I love about New Braunfels. t’s called Comal County Fair Day and it means city and county offices and most local businesses will close to celebrate the Comal County Fair. The day usually kicks off with the parade through downtown New Braunfels. Floats from schools & local organizations make their way down San Antonio Street, around the Main Plaza, and over to Prince Solms Park, and the streets along the way are lined with a couple of thousand local residents.
